|Membership in the Vivos
website is free to
selected candidates, who will receive ongoing Vivos information,
survival preparation, updates of interest related to Vivos, and beyond.
Please note: Membership in the Vivos
website does not provide any rights of shelter ownership, use of, or
access into a Vivos shelter; nor any right of a membership interest in an
actual Vivos shelter, or the association that owns any shelter.
Vivos currently has over 25,000 members to its website, with dozens of new applications arriving daily from around the world. Vivos members are coming from all walks of life and interests.
Each member applicant advises us of their professional skills and knowledge. This helps us understand their ability to contribute to the Vivos community. When we obtain a critical mass of members in a certain geographic area, we then review all of those applications and determine the best mix of people for each shelter group. This is also based on their priority of applying to Vivos Ė first come, first serve. The objective is to have as much diversity as possible in each Vivos community. We donít want all doctors and no plumbers, or electricians. That could be a real disaster. If we have enough applications to build additional Vivos shelters in the same area, we will repeat the selection process until everyone is accommodated.
The Vivos Risk Management Team evaluates each member applicant's profile for determination and candidacy of their free membership in the Vivos website. A conference call is then scheduled with a member of our Risk Management Team to answer the initial questions an applicant may have, and to allow us to better get to know the applicant.
Vivos then looks for those individuals who may best contribute to each Vivos shelter community, for the greatest chance of long-term survival of the entire group. Each candidate is reviewed based upon a number of criteria and psychographic information, including: their profession, education, expertise, skills, benefit to the Vivos community, proximity to a Vivos location, current health, and desired family or group ownership. About 1/3 of all applications are from the medical field (doctors, nurses, psychologists, emergency care professionals), 1/3 are from the law enforcement and military field, and the balance are virtually every expertise and trade you can imagine. We will not have a problem placing a well diversified community of people, as Vivos is appealing to a true cross-section of society, even some you would never imagine. The ages are across the spectrum, with an average age about 45.
A tremendous benefit to shelters of the Vivos scale is the opportunity for a true community of people with diverse skills and abilities, versus the long-term lonely existence of a small family, or group in a private backyard shelter.
Once Vivos certain members are selected as ownership candidates by our Risk Management Team, they are extended an invitation to make a non-binding reservation to purchase an ownership, or membership interest in a specific Vivos shelter. The member submits their reservation agreement, along with their fully refundable deposit to the escrow agent.
Once a critical mass of reservations are received, Vivos provides each member holding a reservation in escrow, with a Purchase and Sale Agreement for their interest(s) in the respective shelter. If the member then decides to proceed, they sign the Purchase and Sale Agreement and submit it to escrow with an enhanced deposit. Vivos then provides each buyer with a comprehensive package of legal documents, schedules and reports for their review and approval. Once approved by the buyer, they proceed to complete their purchase of the co-ownership interests in the shelter, or the membership interests in the association that owns the specific shelter. Co-owners and/or members of each shelter association are then provided exclusive access to their shelter and it is maintained in full readiness and operational mode pending the need to use it.
Vivos co-owners, or association members are able to visit their shelter anytime they choose. Each shelter group is invited for frequent weekend retreats to meet fellow co-owners and train for the operation of their shelter. This group meeting allows owners to get to know each other, as well as plan for their respective duties and responsibilities for any potential use of their Vivos shelter. Members are encouraged to become familiar with the operation of the facility and the surroundings.
